Biography

Comic books, pop-culture and rock & roll can pay the bills as Number Foundation President, Josh Bernstein proves by building a stunning career from his passions. From humble beginnings as a Marvel Comics intern to publishing his own magazine empire under the “strength in numbers” mantra, the #Number Foundation, Bernstein learned that if he couldn’t find the entertainment he was looking for then he would create it himself.

Using his patented can-do attitude, Bernstein birthed Royal Flush Magazine, a jaw-dropping, illustration-heavy, pop-culture-skewering underground art magazine that drew raves from the L.A. Times, EW and USA Today, and not to mention the attention of an adoring fan base.
Cutting his teeth in publishing and design with such companies as the Wall St. Journal, New York Magazine, Maxim, and Time Out New York, Bernstein found his niché as Director of Marketing for NewBay Media. At home with such brands as Revolver, Guitar World, Guitar Aficionado, and others, Bernstein once again saw an opportunity to play to an underserved mass and created and executive produced the only award show in America dedicated to hard rock and heavy metal, the annual Golden Gods Award Show. This led to his successful curation of the retrospective, “The History of Heavy Metal” exhibit at the Los Angeles GRAMMY Museum.

Josh’s strong work ethic and high regard in the music industry has created broadcast partnerships with VH1, MTV2 and Xbox LIVE, selling sponsorships to companies like Harley-Davidson, Lionsgate Films and Budweiser, and booking top-tier talent like Metallica, Marilyn Manson, Johnny Depp, Ozzy Osbourne, Mötley Crüe, Rob Zombie and the Foo Fighters.

In 2012, Bernstein launched the Rock & Roll Roast comedy series on AXS TV which featured the likes of Sharon Osbourne, William Shatner, Alice Cooper, Donald Trump, Dee Snider, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Zakk Wylde and Randy Jackson. His other productions include Bass Player Live!, The Sunset Strip Festival’s salute to Joan Jett and the Metal Masters and Metal Allegiance concerts.

Currently Josh serves as the Director of Sales and Business Development for Alternative Press and executive producer of the successful AP Music Awards Show, which airs live from the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. The APMAs has featured such acts as Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Aerosmith, Smashing Pumpkins, Blink-182 and Ice-T.  Bernstein currently resides in Maplewood, NJ with his lovely wife and beautiful daughter.
